Two of my favorite calculator/pocket computers:  HP 75C and HP 71B


I use Windows WordPad for my posts.   A lot of math symbols can be typed using Alt + codes.   


Square Root:  √

Alt + 251


Degree Symbol:  °

Alt + 248


Division Symbol:  ÷

Alt + 246


Multiplication Symbol:  ×

Alt + 0215


Greater Than or Equal To:  ≥

Alt + 242


Less Than Or Equal To:  ≤

Alt + 243


Approximation Symbol:  ≈

Alt + 247


Infinite Symbol:  ∞

Alt + 236


Theta:  Θ

Alt + 233


Pi: π  

Alt + 227


Capital Sigma Symbol:  Σ

Alt + 248


Mu:  µ

Alt + 230


Others I have to use Unicode characters, like the integral (222B, ∫) and gamma (393, Γ).
